How do I play?

Read the clue at the top, then shoot the falling letter tiles the word needs, in any order. Aim with your mouse and click to fire (or just tap the tile on a phone). Hitting a letter fills every matching blank; hitting a letter the word doesn't need costs one of your five hearts. Complete the word for a bonus and the next clue.

Where is my progress saved?

On your device only, in your browser's local storage on the web, or in the app's private storage on mobile. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. That also means clearing your browser data (or switching browsers/devices) starts you fresh; there is no cloud copy.

Why do some blanks start already filled?

That's the starting hint: two letters revealed (dimmed) for most words, three or four for the long ones. Gold letters are the ones you actually shot.

Why did my streak reset?

Streaks reset when you shoot a wrong letter or when a letter you still needed reaches the ground and escapes. Escaped letters don't cost hearts, only wrong shots do.

A level says "locked". How do I open it?

Clear one stage of the previous level in that same topic. Level 2 unlocks after a Level 1 stage, Level 3 after a Level 2 stage.

Do I keep seeing the same words?

No, every word you solve is remembered, and the game serves only fresh words until an entire pool is mastered. Only then does it recycle for replay.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The whole word database ships with the game. Offline, the two decorative typefaces fall back to system fonts, everything else is identical.

When is the iPhone app coming?

It's built and in preparation for the App Store. Check back here, this page will link to it the day it's live.
